The Institute offers state-of-the-art continuing education for clinical social workers and other mental health professionals. Our faculty includes expert clinicians and charismatic speakers.
Workshop offerings:
We provide continuing education for mental health professionals on a wide range of clinical topics including: treatment of trauma survivors; eating disorders and other self-injurious behaviors; addiction; separation, divorce, and remarriage; dissociative disorders; parenting issues; couples counseling; hypnosis; group therapy; professional burn-out; the challenges of adolescence; and working with elderly clients.
Our informative and experiential workshops provide clinicians with current theory, tools for assessment, evaluation and diagnosis, as well as strategies for creative and effective treatment.

The Institute for Advanced Psychotherapy Training and Education, Inc. is an approved sponsor of the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners for continuing education credits for licensed social workers in Maryland. Reciprocal CEU approval is also granted to social workers in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and West Virginia.

Trauma Certificate Programs-
Registration for the March-June 2010 Level I and Level II series is now open!
Level I- An intensive and comprehensive program in the assessment and treatment of trauma survivors is offered twice a year through the Institute. This unique program has graduated over 195 clinicians who have found the training invaluable and enlightening. Click here for additional information and registration details.
Level II Certificate Program in Advanced Trauma Treatment Offered twice a year, the Level II Certificate is open to graduates of the Level I Certificate Program in Trauma Treatment and clinicians with an expertise in the trauma field.
